Shopify Store Setup
Opening a Shopify account takes five minutes. Opening a store that charges the right tax, ships to the right places at the right price, tracks every conversion and copes with its first rush of orders takes rather longer. Our Shopify store setup service covers the whole configuration, from catalog structure and payments to shipping, apps and launch-day checks, so you go live with a store that works the way your business does.
Simpler stores typically launch in 7-14 days. If you want a design nobody else has, we pair setup with custom Shopify theme development.
Shopify brands we've worked with
Product types, options, variants, SKUs, barcodes, weights and customs details, mapped to Shopify's standard product taxonomy and category metafields so filters and sales channels understand what you sell.
Automated collections built on tags, product type or metafield conditions, menus that mirror how shoppers browse, and storefront filters powered by the Search and Discovery app.
Shopify Payments where it is available, Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, checkout branding, and order notification emails rewritten to sound like your brand.
Shipping profiles and zones, flat, tiered or free-over-threshold rates, local pickup or delivery, package dimensions, and connections to your 3PL or fulfillment app.
Tax collection configured for where you are registered, including Shopify Tax for US sales, tax-inclusive pricing where your markets expect it, and refund, privacy, shipping and terms pages.
Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads through the Google and YouTube channel, the Meta pixel and Conversions API through the Facebook and Instagram channel, and Shopify's cookie banner where consent is required.
Most setup problems are decisions that were made by default. These are the ones we walk every new store through, because they are painful to change once orders are flowing.
Unexpected extra costs are one of the most common reasons shoppers abandon checkout. Show free-shipping thresholds and delivery estimates on product and cart pages, not only at the final step.
Launch campaigns go live before pixels are verified, leaving weeks of ad spend without reliable conversion data for Meta or Google to optimize against.
A dozen apps installed in week one slow the store and stack up monthly fees, when bundles, filters and basic email are already covered natively.
Order confirmations and shipping updates are read by nearly every customer, yet many stores still send Shopify's unedited defaults.
Before the storefront password comes off, every store passes the same pre-launch review. It is unglamorous work, and it prevents the first week of support emails.
A store built on a well-chosen theme with light customization typically launches in 7-14 days once products and content are ready, while a fully custom store usually takes 3-4 weeks. For one UK-based DTC brand we delivered a complete store end-to-end in 11 days, working fully remotely.
Pricing reflects catalog size, number of markets, integrations and design. Landing pages start from $300 and full custom stores from $960, with an itemized proposal sent within 24 hours of your discovery call. Already selling on another platform? Then you need a Shopify store migration, which adds data transfer and redirects to everything above.
Launch is when real data starts arriving, not the end of the project. Post-launch support is included on every build: we fix anything that surfaces once real orders come in and help your team find their way around the admin.
Then growth work takes over. Once you have meaningful traffic, Shopify conversion rate optimization shows where shoppers drop off, and a Shopify maintenance retainer keeps apps, theme and integrations healthy as you grow. For context, stores we build average a 3.2% conversion rate, against an industry average of around 1.4%.
Our Process
Got Questions?
Simpler stores usually launch in 7-14 days, and a fully custom store typically takes 3-4 weeks. The biggest variable is content rather than development: if product data, photos and policies are ready at kickoff, setup moves quickly. If you have a fixed launch date, such as a product drop or a trade show, tell us early and we will plan backwards from it.
For most new brands a standard plan is enough at launch. Higher plans start to pay off when you need lower card processing rates at higher volume, more staff accounts or more detailed reporting. Shopify Plus becomes worth it at significant volume or when you need B2B features and checkout extensions. We recommend the lowest plan that genuinely fits your projections.
Ideally your product data, product photography, logo and brand guidelines, shipping costs and carriers, the countries you will sell to, and your business and tax registration details. We send a product data template so titles, variants, prices and weights arrive in a clean structure. If anything is missing we flag it early, because content gaps are what usually delay a launch.
Yes. We configure Shopify Payments where it is available in your country, plus PayPal and digital wallets, and use Shopify Markets for local currencies, languages and domains. Taxes are set up according to where you are registered, using Shopify Tax for US sales. Which registrations you need is a question for your accountant; we make sure the store charges what they require.
Post-launch support is included on every project, so problems that surface once real orders arrive are fixed without a new quote. We also walk your team through everyday admin tasks such as fulfilling orders, issuing refunds, creating discount codes and editing pages in the theme editor. If you want ongoing help afterward, maintenance retainers are available, with small tasks typically done in 48-72 hours.
